Love is on the move – March 2022 Newsletter

Lent is a time of reflection and remembrance of God’s love poured out on the Cross through Christ in his death and resurection that brings eternal life to us as believers. It is the season of repentance and preparation for Easter. Lent is also know as time for giving something up or for fasting. It is this voluntary fast which brings vivdly to my mind the reality of the multitudes in our midst who are “fasting” not by choice but from lack of resources. It also makes me thankful for all of you and your willingness to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families who comprise that multitude.

May God bless you as you bless others!

Love Without End

A single mother of four filled out a form requesting additional assistance while she was shopping at the Clothes Closet to clothe her family. Overwhelmed by the blessing, she began to cry when a volunteer delivered a box containing personal care items to her home.

The volunteer noticed that the family’s home contained no furniture and learned that they all slept on the floor. You see, due to the high cost of living and lack of child care as well as recently being left to parent alone, the woman was struggling to afford her home and to provide the necessities for her family.

The circumstances were dire enough that her older children were considering dropping out of school to help provide for their family.

Once the situation was fully assessed, your Love INC ministry mobilized to help address the situation and provide help. Volunteers from Partner Churches delivered furniture until her home was fully furnished.

A clergy member reached out to comfort and offer an invitation to church, and other volunteers are helping to navigate the system to obtain child care and housing assistance.

This story is far from over.

The mother and family are still in need of significant assistance to resolve the crisis that they are experiencing. But they know that they are not alone in their struggles and that they are loved by God and by us. There is hope, and a community of caring Christians are here to help.

Please pray for this family, that God would provide for them and comfort them in this difficult time.

Ministry Highlight

Love is on the move

In 2021, your Love INC Ministry was blessed to be able to gift 28 cars to individuals and families in need in our community.

It would be easy to see the number 28 and not realize its significance.

Each car given is part of a life’s journey: one celebrates the successes of a recovering addict, another a single mother providing for her family, yet another an immigrant family trying to make it far from home, and so many more.

With each we are blessed to share hope and love while providing a hand up to those who are struggling.
