A single mother of 4 filled out a form requesting additional assistance while she was shopping at the Clothes Closet to clothe her family. She began to cry, overwhelmed by the blessing, when a volunteer delivered a box containing personal care items to her home.
The volunteer noticed that the family’s home contained no furniture and learned that they all slept on the floor. You see, due to the high cost of living and lack of child care as well as recently being left to parent alone, the woman was struggling to afford her home and to provide the necessities for her family. The circumstances were dire enough that her older children were considering dropping out of school to help provide for their family.
Once the situation was fully assessed, your Love INC ministry mobilized to help alleviate the situation and provide help. Partner Church volunteers delivered furniture until her home was fully furnished, Clergy reached out and provided comfort and an invitation to church, and other volunteers are helping to navigate the system to obtain child care and housing assistance. This story is far from over. The mother and family are still in need of significant assistance to resolve the crisis that they are experiencing.
But they know that they are not alone in their struggles and that they are loved by God and by us. There is hope, and a community of caring Christians are here to help. Please pray for this family, that God would provide for them and comfort them in this difficult time.
